METAL MASHER
This trail is a renowned off-road route, combining technical challenges with breathtaking scenery. Off-roaders navigate through slickrock sections and encounter obstacles like the infamous “Rock Chucker” while enjoying panoramic views of the red rock formations that make Moab famous.
TRAIL REQUIREMENTS
Trail consists of rock; sand and considerable slickrock with many steps exceeding 30″. Steep inclines and declines are prevalent. Enhanced off road equipment is required including, machine minimum 64″ wide, tall tires (32″+ required), maximized vehicle ground clearance and suspension travel. A winch is advisable. Roll over and vehicle damage possibilities exist.

Meet Your Guide Coordinates: 38.65651,-109.67775
Directions to meet your guide: Head north on Main Street (HWY 191), out of Moab, and continue north for approximately 7 miles after crossing the bridge. Just before the Moab Giants dinosaur Museum, there will be a pull out to the left at coordinates 38.65651,-109.67775. Meet your guide at the south end of the parking lot.
Parking: If you are driving a street legal SxS to the lot, be sure to obey the law and drive to the far right while on the HWY and do not exceed 50 mph. There is ample parking at the Gemini Bridges Trailhead parking lot located at coordinates 38.65651,-109.67775. However this lot will be shared by drivers for Metal Masher and Gold Bar Rim. Pay attention to park facing south, and start parking at the north end of the lot to leave room for incoming and outgoing trucks and trailers. Please park in an orderly fashion and do not leave large spaces between trailers. You are strongly encouraged to trailer to the parking lot as the lot is several miles North of Moab.
