About The Trail
A long, scenic cruise that starts where the pavement ends on Kane Creek Road, follows Kane Springs Canyon, then climbs the Kane Creek anticline to Hurrah Pass. From the pass the trail drops down the quieter west side and runs along benches high above the Colorado River, with big river-canyon views the whole way. It dead-ends on the rim roughly 400 feet above the water, straight across from Dead Horse Point State Park. The name goes back to its pack-trail days, when only the least “chicken” would edge around the narrow ledge at the end. Mostly graded dirt with a few rocky spots, it’s a great all-day ride for every experience level.

Trail Requirements
Road surface consisting of loose rock, dirt, and sand with some slickrock surfaces. Erosion, washes, gulches and rock steps no higher than 12″. Most stock UTVs with normal ground clearance can handle this trail. Trailering to this trail head is required.
